This event will take place Thursday, June 15th at 6:00 p.m. Deadline to enter is Tuesday, June 6th (please have forms returned by this date). Please bring your own chair. We only have limited seating in the food tents.
This is a FUN contest. Judging will not be on typical "pageant rules." Our goal is that your child will remember this contest as an enjoyable experience. The MC will interview the child on the stage asking questions such as name, school, about their poster, and otherconversation to help the child draw out their special personalities!
Who can enter?
All girls and boys in grades K-1 — Attending Danville or East Knox School Districts
What do participants need to do?
Present a personal drawing on a poster board of one of the three things below:
- Most favorite event at the Turkey Festival
- A Turkey
- Something that is special to them
(Parents, please do not complete the poster for your child; they will not be judged on the poster drawing. Questions may be asked by our MC about the pictures that they draw.)
Wear their Turkey Festival T-shirt (choose below), jean shorts, skirts, or pants, and bring their finished poster to the Thursday evening contest.

Danville Memorial Park — gather @ the main stage of the 2017 Turkey Festival
How to enter:
- An entry fee of $8 is due with entry form— money covers the cost of the T-shirt.
- Complete entry form and turn in as instructed.
- You may get your t-shirt 30 minutes before the contest from festival staff at the Stage.
Awards for contestants:
All contestants will receive a bag of goodies and can ride on a float in the parade on Saturday, June 18th.
The Miss and Mr. will receive a crown, flower/tractor (respectively), gift certificates and one-day ride band at Turkey Festival.
Miss and Mr. 1st and 2nd Place winners will receive gift certificates and other goodies.
